  • The most important information throughout the quarter will be found on the (course policies) and the (course materials and assignment specs)
  • All announcements for this class are made via the (NOT email), so make sure you are enrolled on Ed and checking regularly.
  • Use the menu bar at the top for navigating to other useful tools and references.

Asking Questions & Getting Help

It is very important to us that you succeed in CSE 351! Outside of lectures and sections, there are several ways to ask questions or discuss course issues:

  1. Find a study group! This quarter, all assignments, other than exams, can be completed and submitted in partnerships (labs) or larger groups (reading, homework), allowing you to discuss material, code, and debug together. We recommend working in the Study Center in CSE 006, where there is a table, just for working on CSE 351.
  2. Visit support hours! See the for current availability. We have regular office hours where it is fine to ask any type of question, as well as conceptual office hours which are only for conceptual questions about course material (no assignment questions).
  3. Make a public post about course content on the , where they benefit the whole class. This also allows other students to answer your question so can receive a faster response. This is the best way of asking questions about class-related topics.
  4. Make a private post to just the course staff on the with any issues you would prefer to discuss privately or questions that involve solutions or partial solutions for ongoing assignments.
  5. Request a 1-on-1 using If you feel like you need extra time, can't make it to support hours, or want to discuss something privately, please feel free to request a 1-on-1 from the staff!
  6. Send to the course staff. The instructor will try to address the issue and share it with others only as appropriate, but will not have a way to reply to you without addressing the whole class.

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR ACADEMIC PATH?
I grew up near Seattle. I was always very STEM oriented and I even wanted to be a software engineer in fifth grade. However, I ended up not taking it too seriously until I took APCSA in my senior year of high school and eventually realized how much I enjoy creating via code. I took CSE 351 in 22Au, and despite thinking I'd never be interested in lower-level topics, it became one of my favorite classes. This is my fifth (and final) time TAing for 351!

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES, TALENTS, AND SKILLS?
Bouldering, running, reading, painting, driving long distances, doing my nails, and browsing Pinterest.

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR ACADEMIC PATH?
- I grew up in West Seattle. Throughout high school, I didn’t pursue computing but was fascinated by other STEM subjects, such as molecular biology and organic chemistry. Coming to UW, I decided to pursue engineering after participating in a summer program at the end of my senior year. This eventually led me to choose electrical and computer engineering as my major.

Throughout my freshman and sophomore years, I stumbled upon a couple of volunteering opportunities to teach introductory programming to middle school and high school students and found my passion for teaching there. Along with a certain class I took in sp24 (πŸ‘€ CSE 351), this experience led me to switch to computer engineering this past year. This is my first time TAing 351, and I’m looking forward to meeting you all!

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES, TALENTS, AND SKILLS?
- I like to watch anime and play badminton in my spare time. Recently, I have been watching Solo Leveling and Magic and Muscles.

HAVE YOU DONE OR EXPERIENCED ANYTHING REMARKABLE OR MEMORABLE?
- I visited the greater Boston area over spring break. Ate at some good spots, checked out a couple of historical spots, and met up with some friends in the area.

WHAT COMMITMENTS WILL BE CONSUMING YOUR CYCLES THIS QUARTER?
- I’ll be taking CSE 421, 446, and 493G. In addition to this, I’m working in a research lab on a project aimed at enhancing accessibility in geovisualization by improving spatial data analysis tools.

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR ACADEMIC PATH?
- I grew up in Los Gatos, California! Most of my life I wanted NOTHING to do with computer science (I thought it was only for boys), until I accidentally watched a Youtube video about the dark web in high school. I then decided I was going to take a CS class. I found that I was mostly interested in how computers actually worked, so I set out to study computer engineering (specifically architecture) at UIUC. Central Illinois is a cool place but I missed the West Coast so I’m back for my PhD! My research focus is still computer architecture.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES, TALENTS, AND SKILLS?
- Cooking, baking, yarn/needlework crafts, kickboxing, hiking, shopping, hanging out with my dog.

HAVE YOU DONE OR EXPERIENCED ANYTHING REMARKABLE OR MEMORABLE?

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR ACADEMIC PATH?
- I grew up in the heart of the SF Bay Area, and have always been inspired by Silicon Valley startup stories. As a little kid, I got into videogame modding, Lego robotics, and making lame tech review videos on YouTube. This shaped my time in middle school and high school, where I got really involved in competitive robotics, programming, and just about everything in between. Now, I'm studying computer science at the Paul Allen School and currently involved in the startup space, since I love building things!

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES, TALENTS, AND SKILLS?
- Besides building/tinkering with things, I've always been a fan of motorsport. I've played every Forza game that has come out since I was in elementary school, and grew to enjoy automotive history, culture, and sport. The fusion of engineering, artistry, and competition makes the field really interesting to follow, so I spend my spare time learning about random history and tidbits relating to it.

HAVE YOU DONE OR EXPERIENCED ANYTHING REMARKABLE OR MEMORABLE?
- When I was in high school, I was part of a small FTC robotics team, and we managed to win the state championship three times in four years, and ranked 28th globally in one season! In my senior year of high school, I was one of three members on an FRC team, and we qualified to the world championship in our first season!

WHAT COMMITMENTS WILL BE CONSUMING YOUR CYCLES THIS QUARTER?
- I'd going to be pretty involved in my CSE courses, TAing, and hopefully building more apps!
